Shoyu is an Izakaya Ramen bar located in wicklow Ireland. The goal was to create something a little different from the classic Japanese restaurant aesthetic and introduce a more contemporary, casual street-style experience to the brand. The typeface chosen for the identity was a neo-grotesque typeface named Covik-Sans which reinforces the contemporary feel. The typeface was designed with the intent of creating beautiful and interesting negative spaces. I began to pull out these shapes in order to use them within the project. An infographic using these modified shapes was created in order to break down the five key components of ramen. This branding was created with Bad Apple Creative.
